Considered one of the top “pop” artists in the world, Steve Kaufman’s silk-screened canvases should instantly bring to mind the work of the most famous pop artist of all time, Andy Warhol. This is no coincidence. For the better part of a decade, the young Kaufman was a friend and apprentice of the great Warhol, gaining such trust from both the artist and his supporters that Kaufman finished a number of Warhol’s incomplete commissions after his passing.
Presented is Kaufman’s ode to Batman in the form of a giclee – “Welcome to Gotham City”. This is a numbered edition which would also be an element of his original giclees. It is numbered 133/250 on the back.
The brilliance of the composition is bolstered by the work’s enormous size, a stirring 20″ x 30″. Next to it is Kaufman’s signature “SAK” is on the verso in black felt tip next to the edition size. Overall, one of the finest tributes to this iconic comic character. But don’t take our word for it-the image speaks for itself.
Please note, this is an oversized item so additional shipping costs will apply.
