Guy McIntyre was one of the first linemen in the modern age of the NFL to be used as a blocking back/fullback (in Bill Walsh’s “Angus” short-yardage formation); it was when this offense was used in the 1984 NFC Championship Game in the defeat of the Chicago Bears that motivated Bears coach Mike Ditka to use the same formation the following year, with William Perry, the “Refrigerator” as the blocking back, though Perry would also be used as a runner.

Presented is a game worn Guy McIntyre San Francisco 49ers football helmet. The Riddell helmet features a gold shell with the classic 49ers logo decal on each side. The padding in the interior is worn with sweat/soiling. Basically, the pads are sweaty and nasty.

It shows moderate wear with soiling and hit marks on the exterior. The [size] 7-1/4 helmet is intact player identifier #62 is handwritten near each earhole in black felt tip. Lastly, it features a reconditioned sticker in the interior dating to 1987. Note, that it is missing a49ers decal as it fell off with age. Overall, a great vintage game used 49ers helmet.
