Description
Presented is B.C. Rich Lita Ford Warlock model electric guitar (Bronze Series) autographed the rock goddess herself, Lita Ford. Superbly autographed in silver paint pen on the body of the black guitar she also added a small personalization and the name of one of her best hits, “Kiss Me Deadly”.
The guitar itself is her custom Signature Series Warlock model and was created based on her own favorite personal model by B.C. Rich. This sleek black one was made with her design decals with red “LITA” screening. The guitar shows mild but typical wear from transport.
This guitar originated from a Hard Rock Hotel & Casino employee who worked with talented musicians that came to the venue to perform. In the process of all the back stage antics (the partying, the moving and jostling, just dealing with rock stars), many of the guitars have battle wounds including scuffs, scrapes (etc.) and may have been played.
The consigner also worked with the curator of the historic memorabilia laden casino who had the access to many celebrities and musicians (and their memorabilia of course). As a collector, it was truly the place to be as it allowed his treasure trove to be amplified. He is now ready to bring some of those treasures to market. Take notice, in the process of obtaining autographs of the musicians he had them sign the body of a guitar which is more rare than the placed pick guard ones that are often brought to market. As a musician himself, he also made sure that the guitars in his collection were oftentimes elite models like this one.
Other interesting notes:
Lita Ford is an English-born guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter. She was the lead guitarist for the all-female rock band the Runaways in the late 1970s, and then embarked on a successful glam metal solo career that hit its peak in the late 1980s. The 1989 single “Close My Eyes Forever”, a duet with Ozzy Osbourne, remains Ford’s most successful song, reaching No. 8 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
The Lita Ford Signature Series Warlock is an exact replica of her favorite B.C. Rich Warlock she named “Morice.” Known as the Queen of Metal from her days fronting the all girl-Runaways to her solo career that started in the mid 80s and continues today, the talented entertainer was long overdue her own model, and here it is.
Featuring an onyx-colored beveled mahogany body, mahogany neck, and ebony fretboard, this beauty also sports a 6-inline-curved reversed rosweood headstock and the familiar painted red bow tie “black widow” design on the lower bout. Fans of Lita will instantly recognize this aesthetically wicked axe. To help you get the most of the gutiar’s natural wood tones it features a Seymour Duncan SH-4 at the neck position and a Seymour Duncan SH-6 at the bridge position. Other accoutrements include Grover Super Rotomatic tuners, white bow-tie inlays and neck binding, and a Kahler Hybrid Tremolo.
The Hard Rock resort opened on March 10, 1995, as the world’s first rock and roll-themed hotel. The Hard Rock featured various memorabilia in conjunction with its music theme. Warwick Stone was the longtime curator for the Hard Rock Hotel and Hard Rock International. At the time of its opening, the resort contained $2 million worth of music memorabilia, including concert outfits worn by Aerosmith, Lenny Kravitz, Madonna, and Van Halen. The Hard Rock also had a display dedicated to Kurt Cobain, and a piece of the plane that Otis Redding died in. Other items included one of Elton John’s pianos, a drum kit used by Stone Temple Pilots, and the shoeshine stand that James Brown worked at as a child.
