Description
Offered for auction is a 26 x 1/2 by 37 x 1/2 display from their multi-platinum album and tour Women and Children featuring STAGE-USED drumsticks, picks, guitar strings and passes. These amazing Halen items were obtained directly from the Caterers of the Aladdin Hotel & Casino where they performed. The sheet of paper is approximately 9 x 11″.
The sheet is signed by Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen Inscribed it with a Doodle, Lead vocalist David Lee Roth signed & inscribed “Van Halen” and finally the bassist Michael Anthony signature finalizes the entire rock group’s signatures. All signatures are signed in black felt pen & grades 9-10.
Also, featured with this collection from the WDFA 1981 live concert at the Aladdin, are 7 Michael Anthony picks used on stage, the actual used guitar stings from Eddie Van Halen, a program from the concert, 3 backstage caterer passes and 5 Van Halen meal tickets. A provenance letter from the boy who collected these items at the time will accompany this collection.
My favorite part of this ensemble, are the meal tickets. The meal tickets are what the band used to eat before and after the concert further verifying the provenance of these rock items. The Caterer issued these meal tickets to all the band members and to all who were authorized to eat. The son of the caterer, a young boy at the time, would collect anything that he came across on the floor of the stage and backstage. Truly, these iconic stage and concert-used items from Van Halen will be an absolute centerpiece for your Rock collection. Nearly impossible to find autographs from the entire band, Eddie Van Halen himself, but even rarer to find concert used picks, guitar strings, and drumsticks.
From 1974 to 1985, Van Halen consisted of Eddie Van Halen, his brother, drummer Alex Van Halen, lead vocalist David Lee Roth, and bassist Michael Anthony. Upon its release in 1978, the band’s self-titled debut album reached No. 19 on the Billboard 200. It would sell over 10 million copies in the United States, achieving a Diamond certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). By 1982, the band released four more albums: Van Halen II (1979), Women and Children First (1980), Fair Warning (1981), and Diver Down (1982), all of which have since been certified multi-platinum. By the early 1980s, Van Halen was among the most commercially successful rock acts. The album 1984, released in the eponymous year, was a commercial success with U.S. sales of 10 million copies and four successful. Singles. Its lead single, “Jump”, was the band’s only number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100.
