Hundreds of thousands of fans turned out to see this jersey during the 1999 season, as Mark McGwire aka “Big Mac” toured the country as the reigning king of the long ball. Presented is one of his game worn St. Louis Cardinals home uniforms. The jersey showing moderate wear overall has classic chenille birds and bat imagery on chest, with “McGwire 25” sewn in red and black tackle twill to verso. Tagging inside tail: “Rawlings [size] 52”, with “Set 1 1999” flap tag affixed. The white pants included to complete the set feature a Rawlings tag in the waistband with strip tag showing: McGWIRE 25 36-39 37 99 1. Overall, a great uniform from McGwire’s mind-blowing season of sixty-five long balls.
