Description
Presented is a vintage astronaut autographed baseball c. 1960’s (including Apollo 15). Apollo 15 was the ninth crewed mission in the United States’ Apollo program and the fourth to land on the Moon. It was the first J mission, with a longer stay on the Moon and a greater focus on science than earlier landings. Apollo 15 had the first use of the Lunar Roving Vehicle.
It is an ONL (Giles) Spalding baseball and it was signed by (7) astronauts. Apollo 15 crew members include: James Irwin, David Scott, Alfred Worden, Vance Brand, Harrison “Jack” Schmidt, Robert Parker and one other. The signatures rate “7-8” in black ink. The ball itself shows light toning with some very minor scattered spots (and one thin streak) of discoloration.
The provenance letter also included indicates this was sold in a prior auction in 2014 at an All-Star Fan Fest.
