Presented is a Hondo Deluxe Series 775 electric guitar with a cat decal autographed by the Gin Blossoms. Superbly autographed in silver paint pen (“8”) on the body by 4 members of the band including Robin Wilson, Scott “Scotty” Johnson and others. The guitar itself shows mild handling/storage wear from the Hard Rock.

This guitar originated from a Hard Rock Hotel & Casino employee who worked with talented musicians that came to the venue to perform. In the process of all the back stage antics (the partying, the moving and jostling, just dealing with rock stars), many of the guitars have battle wounds including scuffs, scrapes (etc.) and may have been played.

The consigner also worked with the curator of the historic memorabilia laden casino who had the access to many celebrities and musicians (and their memorabilia of course). As a collector, it was truly the place to be as it allowed his treasure trove to be amplified. He is now ready to bring some of those treasures to market. Take notice, in the process of obtaining autographs of the musicians he had them sign the body of a guitar which is more rare than the placed pick guard ones that are often brought to market. As a musician himself, he also made sure that the guitars in his collection were oftentimes elite models like this one.

Gin Blossoms is an American alternative rock band formed in 1987 in Tempe, Arizona. They rose to prominence following the 1992 release of their first major label album, New Miserable Experience, and the first single released from that album, “Hey Jealousy”. “Hey Jealousy” became a Top 25 hit and went gold, and New Miserable Experience eventually went quadruple platinum; four other charting singles were released from the album. The band’s follow-up album, Congratulations I’m Sorry (1996), went platinum and the single “As Long as It Matters” was nominated for a Grammy Award. Gin Blossoms broke up in 1997. Since reuniting in 2001, the band has released Major Lodge Victory in 2006, No Chocolate Cake in 2010, and Mixed Reality in 2018.
