Honus Wagner Signed Check c.1917 RARE! COA JSA

Presented here for Auction is a large size  8 1/4″ x 3″ bank counter check signed by Honus Wagner with autograph variation” John H. Wagner” in vintage blue fountain ink Dated October 4, 1917, from The First National Bank of Carnegie in Carnegie, Pennsylvania. Paid to the Order of “W.J. Clarke who was Honus Wagner Contractor as noted next to the name listed.  The Flying Dutchman died in 1955. It is extremely difficult to find a playing days example of a signed check with this strength of signature since Honus was still playing on October 4th with the Pirates .
