Sadly, Wayne wouldn’t make it to the end of this agreement, passing away on June 11, 1979, at the age of 72, making this one of the very last contracts of his life.  This is an important historic marker in the actor’s life, still being paid 2 million dollars.

Interesting five-page, 8″ x 11″ contract between John Wayne & ABC Television network for a six-part “Specials” series to feature the Duke throughout the 1977/78 & 1978/79 TV season. ABC would pay Wayne $2,000,000 for being the star in the later-named “Specials,” agreed & accepted by The Duke at the conclusion adding a bold autograph & his social security number in blue ballpoint. Overall in fine condition with minor discoloration. Sadly Wayne wouldn’t make it to the end of this agreement, passing away on June 11, 1979 at the age of 72
