Description
Bethesda Fountain, near 72nd Street in New York City, is the focal point of Central Park. With sketchbook in hand, LeRoy Neiman took daily walks in Central Park to observe the fountain. He made preliminary sketches from atop the grand stairs leaning down to the statue as well as from a rowboat.
Presented is a “Bethesda Fountain-Central Park” (1989 image) serigraph. The colors are textured on this outstanding print. It is signed in pencil by LeRoy Neiman (“9″) and is numbered 251/300. American artist Neiman lived near the fountain, at 72nd Street in New York, and created this scene from various vantage-points depicting daily life in the Park. The serigraph measures 32.5″ x 42″.
