When Ruth and Gehrig began, their friendship began. Gehrig could not relinquish his awe of Ruth, the great Bambino. Gehrig once thought that the most thrilling moment in his life was shaking hands with Ruth as he crossed the plate after hitting number 60 (Setting the record for most home runs in record in a season).  Babe Ruth was a frequent dinner guest at the Gehrig household.  For many years, Gehrig and Ruth were barnstorming together.  This is why we believe it to be a compelling argument about the photo being inscribed to Gehrig’s buddy, George (Herman Babe Ruth).
