From the original negative and the private collection of the Kim Goodwin Estate, this original 5×7″ black and white photo is a nice intimate photo of the iconic Monroe. George Barris signed this photo on the bottom left side in dark ink before he passed away. This is from Marilyn’s last photo shoot with George Barris in June 1962. (Marilyn died in August). They were obtained by Kim Goodwin, as he worked for Barris and was paid in negatives and photography for his work in lieu of a cash payment.

The collection offered in this auction are some of the most unique up-close and personal images of Marilyn from her home. These are the last photo’s taken of Marilyn. These rarely come up for for sale especially directly from Marilyn’s personal photographer and friend. This is a very unique opportunity to acquire a piece of history .
Back in June of 1962, Cosmopolitan assigned the photographer George Barris to capture Marilyn Monroe around Los Angeles, which he obligingly did over the course of several weeks. The resulting 150 photos, taken which stretched from beaches where Monroe writhed around in a bikini in seaweed to the Hollywood Hills where she wore heels to climb a chain-link fence, felt celebratory—until a few weeks later, when Monroe unexpectedly passed away at age 36, making the Barris sessions her final photo shoot. Fifty-five years later, though, the largely unpublished photos are finally seeing the light of day
