Description
Maxwell Cornelius Manning was a pitcher in Negro league baseball. He played for the Newark Eagles between 1938 and 1949. A native of Rome, Georgia, Manning served in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. In the 1946 Negro World Series, he started two games and went 1-1 to help the Eagles win the championship.
Presented is an ONL (Coleman) baseball autographed by Max Manning. He signed it on the sweet spot in a black ballpoint pen (“9”). The ball itself shows toning from age.
