Description
The New York Yankees may someday run out of uniform numbers. To this point, they’ve retired 17 of them, more than any other team in baseball. Mickey Mantle’s No. 7 was retired in 1969, a year after he hung up his spikes.
This is not just your average Mickey Mantle Signed baseball. The baseball was signed by Mantle, “To Al Pilarcik” with the salutation, “Best Wishes”. An outfielder, he appeared in 668 Major League games between 1956 and 1961 for the Kansas City Athletics, Baltimore Orioles and Chicago White Sox. The ball came directly from the Al Pilarcik collection.
Offered is a nice Mantle signature on the side panel of an ONL (Cronin) ball inked in blue ballpoint “7.” The baseball itself shows toning/discoloration throughout.
