Description
This vivid black-and-white presentation features Mickey Mantle wearing a crown in recognition of his 1956 Triple Crown award. Also in the 16″ x 20″ photo, Casey Stengel, the Ol’ Perfessor himself, is providing much-needed support. Mantle’s accomplishments are also represented on the three bats he’s holding (.353 ave., 52 homers and 130 RBI). Mantle signed his name boldly in blue felt tip across his chest and added the inscription “Triple Crown 1956.” JSA graded the autograph a perfect “10”.
Overall, one of the best-signed Mantle photos you can find with a wonderful inscription. Note, the frame is not included and the photo will be taken out of frame and glass when shipped.
These originated from a longtime collector who acquired a substantial amount of autographs traveling to many trade shows on the East Coast in the 1980’s-90’s. All the signatures along with rare inscriptions in his collection (especially Mickey Mantle) were obtained in person.
