Presented is an OAL (Budig) baseball autographed by Milt Pappas. He signed it on the sweet spot in a blue ballpoint pen (“9”) and (No-Hitter 9-2-72).
Milton Pappas played in Major League Baseball as a right-handed pitcher from 1957 through 1973. Nicknamed “Gimpy”. He was a three-time All-Star player for the Orioles and was inducted into the Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame in 1985. Milt Pappas with the story of his near-perfect game against the San Diego Padres on September 2, 1972, at Wrigley Field. A strike away from a perfect game, Cubs’ Milt Pappas settles for the no-hitter. He was a two-time All-Star, won 209 games, and tossed 43 shutouts in his 17-year career but is best remembered for a walk.
