Description
If you collect memorabilia from the Negro Leagues, then this baseball is for you! The Negro leagues were United States professional baseball leagues comprising teams of African Americans and, to a lesser extent, Latin Americans. The term may be used broadly to include professional black teams outside the leagues and it may be used narrowly for the seven relatively successful leagues beginning in 1920 that are sometimes termed “Negro Major Leagues”.
Presented is an ONL (White) baseball with a whopping 33 autographs on it, all from former members of the Negro Leagues. The signatures are all in blue ballpoint and generally grade out in the “8” to “10” range. Signers include Art Pennington (sweet spot) D. Biddie, J. Johson, G. Hopkins, J. Miles, C. Holden, J. Proctor, M. Duckett, B. Boyd, Bill (Ready) Cash, H. Hair, L. Evelyn, O. Baily, B. Giggs, A. Young, R. Moore, C. Chatman, C. Long, W. Lundy, Andy Porter, S. Allen, Louis Miller, Henry Presswood, Felix Evans, J. Scott, Bill Blair, Roosevelt Owens, M. Pride, M. Jordan, A. Young, Curtis “Bingo” Lloyd, Frank Bernard Fernandez and S. Taylor.
