Description
Considered one of the top “pop” artists in the world, Steve Kaufman’s silk-screened canvases should instantly bring to mind the work of the most famous pop artist of all time, Andy Warhol. This is no coincidence. For the better part of a decade, the young Kaufman was a friend and apprentice of the great Warhol, gaining such trust from both the artist and his supporters that Kaufman finished a number of Warhol’s incomplete commissions after his passing.
Presented is one of Kaufman’s unique hand drawn art pieces that is ready to wear when on the town (preferably in Vegas of course). The Italian Studio Milano tan jacket made by a silk wool combination of fabric was covered by Kaufman in a black felt tip Las Vegas theme. Most of the black maker has gone through the fabric into the interior (as shown).
Vegas landmarks galore mark their territory by Steve on the exterior of the front and back. The front takes you to the Stardust guided by Benjamin Franklin near the craps table. Then, go back to the Flamingo to play some poker with a royal flush in hand and catch a bingo game in action.
The theme on the verso takes you to Freemont street and old style Vegas with the cowboy marquee leading the way. There you can roll some dice, play some mega slots and double down on blackjack. Lastly, Kaufman reminds us before leaving to catch the volcano explosion and a have a quick beer at the open market across from the dancing fountains. Lastly, please take your new lady friend to the Welcome sign for a quick selfie to remember what never happened anyway.
Overall, a nice one of a kind item created in 2009, ready to pop out of a Vegas limo and signed by the legendary artist, Steve Kaufman.
