Turk Wendell Signed Baseball Mets – COA

Presented is an ONL (Coleman) baseball autographed by Turk Wendell.  He signed it on the sweet spot in blue ballpoint pen (“9”). “He inscribed the ball Turk Wendell with the inscription, “#99 Mets”. “Wendell wore jersey number 99, in honor of Rick “Wild Thing” Vaughn, the main character in the movie Major League (played by Charlie Sheen).  In addition, in 2000, he signed  a contract worth $9,999,999.99. The ball itself shows toning from age.

Turk Wendell was a right-handed relief pitcher, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for four National League (NL) teams, in all or part of eleven seasons, between 1993 and 2004. As a batter, Wendell was a switch hitter, with all three of his lifetime hits coming from the left side of the plate. Wendell made his first big league appearance on June 17, 1993. Wendell was a relief pitcher who threw a four-seam fastball, a two-seam fastball, a slider, and a change-up. He was regarded as having above-average control, average pitch movement, below-average power, and a good pick-off move. Wendell was named the most superstitious athlete of all time by Men’s Journal.
