Description
This Grant executed in 1823, affirmed 80 acres of land in Wayne County (Brookville), Indiana to a Jonas Harris. Properly, the document has been signed by the commissioner of the Generals Land Office, George Graham and ultimately sanctioned by President James Monroe. Though the parchment has brittle over tie, its two vertical folds ave induced partial separations. However, all of the text, both written and formatted, remain fully legible. For that matter, the President’s signature, grading “9”. constitutes the strongest characters on this document. Measuring about 9″ x 15 1/2″ its official seal remains (but in faulty condition). And finally Monroe’s signature has fortunately been placed against Apure surface which is completes unimpaired.
