Description

These are two 5×8 Handwritten notes dating from fifteen years before Garfield’s inauguration and subsequent assassination.  Two-page letter on  “House of Representatives Committee of Ways and Means” stationery reads in part,

“… I am sorry but the Dept is not yet willing to remove the unpleasant words from the order accepting your resignation…” All ink and closing “J.A. Garfield” signature is NRMT.  The first page has two small age spots.

29″ x 21″ ornate frame accents the stationary notes and 8×10 photo. Frames are sold in AS IS Condition.
