Description
The New York Jets drafted Keyshawn Johnson #1 in the 1996 NFL Draft. He was the first wide receiver #1 since 1984’s Irving Fryer was drafted #1.
Presented is one of his game-worn Jets green home jerseys from when he played in New York during Pre-Season. It shows great use throughout with contact marks, puckering and fraying. The wear is most apparent on the white tackle twill identifiers “19” but there’s plenty of soiling and tears. There are also yellow helmet contact marks on the numerals and sleeve of the jersey.
Important Keyshawn customizations include elasticized sleeve ends, spandex underarms and sides and a tail that’s custom-cut above the tag line. A great Jets logo patch is present on the chest. A “99-46” (year/size) swatch is located in the collar. Due to the memorial “LH” patch not being present on the right side of the jersey dates the jersey to pre-season. The Jets Pre-season exhibition game at Giants Stadium occured on 03 September 1999 in East Rutherford, Photos of the Jets during preseason can be viewed at Getty Images by clicking this link.
