Dirk Nowitzki was a first ballot Hall of Famer and is widely recognized as the greatest European player to come to the NBA. He joined the hallowed Hall in 2023.  Presented is a jersey worn by Nowitzki during the 2003-04 seaon with the Dallas Mavericks.

This presented blue mesh jersey features “DALLAS” across the chest in white tackle twill. The number “41” appears on the chest and back of the jersey in silver/white tackle twill. An embroidered NBA “Logoman” patch rests on the left chest.

“NOWITZKI” appears across the back of the jersey in silver/white tackle twill with his jersey number below “41”. A Dallas Mavericks “Star” logo appears on the back of the jersey below the rear collar. Tags on the front the tail include: “NBA Authentics – [size] “54,” “Length +4. Interior seam tag features the season “2003-04.” Overall, the jersey shows great wear with soft malleable tagging and loose threading. The jersey includes a “MeiGray Group Game certificate of authenticity in conjunction with the Dallas Mavericks.

After Dallas traded starting center Raef LaFrentz to Boston for forward Antoine Walker, Nelson decided to start Nowitzki at center. To cope with his more physical role, Nowitzki put on 20 pounds of muscle mass over summer, sacrificed part of his agility, and put more emphasis on defense rather than scoring. Nowitzki’s averages fell for the first time in his career, dropping to 21.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game, but he still led the Mavericks in scoring, rebounding, steals (1.2 spg) and blocks (1.35 bpg). These figures earned him nominations for the All-Star Game and the All-NBA Third Team. Compiling a 52–30 record, the Mavericks met their familiar rivals the Sacramento Kings in the playoffs once again, but were eliminated in five games.
