Presented is an attractive limited edition lithograph titled “The Coach” created by artist Joe Lee and signed by both Bill Walsh and Lee in pencil. It’s part of a limited edition of 90 Artist Proofs (AP) with this one numbered #40/90. There is also a diagram of “The Catch” in black felt tip, the play called by Bill Walsh to defeat the Dallas Cowboys and send the 49’ers to their first Super Bowl.  Note, there is some hand transfer of the ink within the diagram. This attractive lithograph measures 19 x 32 inches overall.

Bill Walsh was an American professional and college football coach. He served as head coach of the San Francisco 49ers and the Stanford Cardinal, during which time he popularized the West Coast offense. After retiring from the 49ers, Walsh worked as a sports broadcaster for several years and then returned as head coach at Stanford for three seasons.
