Carl Yastrzemski replaced a legend in left field for the Boston Red Sox. By the time his 23-year career was over, Yastrzemski was a legend himself. Yastrzemski replaced Ted Williams in Boston’s lineup in 1961, stepping into the spotlight as a much-heralded rookie with only two seasons of minor league experience.

Presented is an OAL (Brown) baseball autographed by both Carl Yastrzemski and Ted Williams.  Williams signed it on the sweet spot in blue ballpoint pen (“9”) and Yaz below also in blue ballpoint (“9”).  The ball itself shows toning from age.
