Description
Charles W. Lindberg was a United States Marine Corps corporal who served in World War II. During the Battle of Iwo Jima, he helped place the first of two U.S flags on top of Mount Suribachi on February 23, 1945. Lindberg was one of the last surviving members of the 40-man patrol that climbed and captured Mount Suribachi.
Presented is an Old Glory First Day Cover (FDC) that was autographed on the front by Charles W. Lindberg in black pen (“9”) with his rank inscription. The envelope was encapsulated and authenticated by Beckett.
