Presented is a Chris Spielman away white mesh Detroit Lions jersey that was issued during his career in the late 1980’s early ’90s. This jersey features his jersey ’s number “54” screened on in blue/silver on the front, back and sleeves. The jersey has well decorated sleeves with the blue/silver stripes beneath the numbers. The underarm areas are lined with Spandex. His name is in matching blue tackle twill “SPIELMANN” on a nameplate on the back. The Wilson tag with [size] 48 flap are sewn on the bottom front left tail. This jersey shows no wear from the field only aging/storage wear. For added value, it was autographed by Spielman in black felt tip (“9”) near the back shoulder nameplate.
In the 1988 NFL draft, Chris Spielman was drafted in the second round with the 29th overall pick by the Detroit Lions.Spielman played eight seasons with the Lions (1988–95), where he was a defensive stalwart during the team’s run to four playoff appearances, two NFC Central titles, and a berth in the 1991 NFC Championship Game. He captained the Lions’ defense that was one of the best statistically in the NFL in the mid-1990s.[citation needed] Spielman is the franchise’s all-time leader in career tackles with 1,138 (since the team began recording tackles statistically in 1973.)
