Description
Presented is an autographed piece of parchment (4.5″ x 5.5″) from an autograph album featuring three baseball players including Hank Greenberg, Dixie Walker and Dixie Parsons. Each baseball player signed the sheet in blue ballpoint (“9”).
Hank Greenberg was an American professional baseball player and team executive. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB), primarily for the Detroit Tigers as a first baseman in the 1930s and 1940s. A member of the Baseball Hall of Fame and a two-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award winner, he was one of the premier power hitters of his generation and is widely considered one of the greatest sluggers in baseball history.
Dixie Walker played as a right fielder in Major League Baseball from 1931 to 1949. Although Walker was a five-time All-Star selection, and won a National League batting championship (1944) as well as an RBI championship (1945) as a member of the Brooklyn Dodgers, his accomplishments as a player were overshadowed by his attempt to keep Jackie Robinson from joining the Dodgers in 1947. He also played for the New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox, Detroit Tigers and Pittsburgh Pirates.
Dixie Parsons was an American Major League Baseball player. Parsons played for the Detroit Tigers in 1939, 1942 and 1943. He batted and threw right-handed.
