Description
Advance one sheets for Spider-Man are highly coveted by collectors because the World Trade Center twin towers are seen reflecting in the eyes of the stalwart comic book hero, Spider-Man. There were three versions created, each with a different tag line: “3 March 2002”, “2002”, and the one presented here, “Coming 2002.” Columbia distributed the posters to theaters before September 11, 2001, but asked that they all be taken down after the horrific events of 9/11. The poster itself was in rolled condition before display and measures (26.75″ x 39.75″).
Even more scarce is to find an original Spider-Man advance movie poster from 2002 with a Stan Lee signature on it. It was known that he didn’t want to sign any that had the Twin Towers on it. However, this one was presented quickly in line (as it was also still rolled) and he honored it with his signature in black felt tip (“7-8″) toward the bottom portion. It is quite possibly the only one to exist. The poster was put in a display that measures 29″ x 42.5”. This originates from a promotion director at KOMP Radio here in Las Vegas as Stan Lee was at one of their events.
