Description
Drawn from his account with the First National Bank of Nevada (Reno), Cobb penned all the details for a Peninsula Feed & Fuel Company in 1948. And he consummated the deal with a beautiful Cobbian signature, with his full name “Tyrus R. Cobb,” as opposed to more common autographs or, for that matter, simply “Ty”, as he usually signed personal letters. It’s also complete with his distinctive underscoring flair. The check measures 2-3/4″ x 8″. The bank’s punch-hole cancellation was cleanly executed, and it does not encroach the signature. An outstanding Ty Cobb signature, one certainly worthy of “7” in quality. The signed check is also placed in a custom display (26″ x 38″) with an art photo of the super slugger.
