Presented is an orange Florida Gators helmet worn by Ben Troupe the in 2002 season. It was also worn in the Orange Bowl where the Gators won over Maryland (56-23) . Troupe is an American former professional football player who was a tight end for five seasons in the National Football League (NFL) during the early 2000s. Troupe played college football for the Florida Gators, earning All-American honors in 2003. He was a second-round pick in the 2004 NFL draft, and played professionally for the Tennessee Titans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL.
This well-used Riddell helmet has a white facemask and a blue-white-blue stripe bisecting the crown. A “Gators” script decal is adhered to both sides of the helmet. A bumper with “Gators” printed in blue script is affixed on the forehead of the helmet. The facemask shows wear throughout with a chinstrap and a blue mouth guard. Interior stickers are a warning and recondition affixed. The padding system in the interior is worn with dirt, sticky residue and sweat. The link to Troupe features stickers on the back – “84” (his number) with the FedEx Orange Bowl sticker above on one side and the “NCAA Football” with American flag above on the other. There’s also scuffing marks on the shell throughout. Overall, strong use with wear both inside and out.
